Previous rejections have been from Lightspeed (form), Phobos Magazine (personal), Where the Stars Rise anthology (personal), Podcastle (personal) and Luna Station Quarterly (form), but I haven’t bothered to keep track of them until now.

This most recent one’s a 30-day personal rejection from Fantastic Stories of the Imagination. Personals only constitute ~11% of FSI’s rejections (according to Submission Grinder), so I actually feel pretty good about this higher-tier rejection, especially when it encouraged me to submit more.

“Dear Allison,
Thank you for sharing your story with us at Fantastic Stories of the Imagination. Blood For Rain was beautifully written, but the conflict was solved too simply to pull me in. Please keep us in mind for future submissions.
Kindest regards,
Robert Davis
Managing Editor
