I got a 57-day turnaround from Bards and Sages Quarterly for “Blood For Rain,” with personal feedback attached, as I had requested. When submitting to Bards and Sages, you have the option to ask for feedback if the piece gets rejected, such as in my case. According to the editor, the familiar plot and idea is its weakest point, while point of view and voice were the strongest, bringing it to an overall rating of 2.7/5 (lol ouch). Criticism stings, but it’s the kind of stuff we need to hear the most in order to improve. No pain, no gain.
